History and Origin
The Burmese was brought to USA from Burma in the early 1930's. Selective breeding to Siamese yields the Burmese as a distinct recognised breed. One of the first The Burmese breeder was Dr. Joseph Thompson from San Francisco.
Temperament and Personality
Burmese cats are highly intellegent, energetic and playful. They are happy to have a playing buddy.
Size and Appearance
The Burmese is a middle size cat, muscular, strong and weighty. Coat is short, satin-like in texture and soft. Eyes are large and set broadly apart. Colours are any shade of yellow from chartreuse to amber, with golden yellow preferred.
